Our Team

Derrick Cunningham, CEO & Founder

Derrick serves as the CEO and a founder. Derrick is a native to Alabama. He and his wife, Bobbie, have been married for 41 years. He has been a Houston resident for 41 years also. Derrick is a Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District retiree with over 20 years of service. While growing up on the outskirts of Birmingham, the saying, “It takes a village“ was lived daily. That spirit is what drives Derrick to serve. He believes that all people matter; that sharing with others is a selfless act. Derrick enjoys all music genres, playing spades and backgammon, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends..

Bobbie Cunningham, Founder & Volunteer Coordinator

Bobbie serves as a founder and volunteer coordinator. Bobbie is a native of Alabama where she met her husband, Derrick. After 41 years of marriage, she still says, “I do!” Bobbie is a Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District retiree with 33 years of service.  It was her time there working alongside administrators, faculty, staff, and students that she learned to share her story and be a listening ear. Often reminded of her grandmother, who was of great influence, she realized helping people was her greatest passion. While in the district, Bobbie was bestowed many certificates and honorary memberships. She was also the TEA/NEA advocate of the year. All of these awards show Bobbie’s connection and dedication to this community, but none are greater than the impact she has made in the lives of those she has served.

Delona Moore, Treasurer

Delona serves as the treasurer of The River Flows Foundation. Delona and husband, Garry, have been married for 33 years. She was born and raised in Indiana and graduated from Purdue University. She relocated in 1990 to Houston to raise her family. All of her children attended Cypress-Fairbanks schools and continued their education at Prairie View A&M and Texas Tech Universities. They are now independent adults and respectable pillars of the community. Delona has almost 40 years in treasury work experience ranging from Fortune 500 companies to “Spin off” companies. She also currently serves as the Chairman of the Trustee Board and a member of the Finance Committee at her church.

Erica Garcia, Secretary

Erica serves as the secretary for The River Flows Foundation. She grew up in a single parent home with two younger siblings. Erica’s mother would work many hours to make ends meet. Her mother did not qualify for government assistance and she believed she was unaware of any other types of resources. Erica’s mother is her hero as she worked so hard to make sure she and her siblings never went without and had all that they needed. Erica serves in the non-profit sector to help families who fall short in being able to attain all of their needs. She also wants to help make a difference in their lives. In her spare time she loves to watch sports, sing  karaoke, play volleyball, hangout with family, grill, and chill.

Janice Jackson

My name is Janice Jackson, I’m currently a realtor working for Texas United Realty as an Agent. During my career, over 30 years I pursued a career in Banking Finance.  However, I maintain several different positions from Teller to a Personal Banker, Vice President of Business Banking and a Branch Manager/Vice President at JPMorgan Chase.  I also pursed a career at Amegy Bank where I was a Branch Manager/Vice President.

My goal is to assist The River Flows Foundation in achieving mentorship, fund raising, educating and to create a positive impact on the community.

LaSaundra Jackson

LaSaundra grew up in the enchanting region of North Louisiana, where a family of talented musicians and singers nurtured her love for music. It was evident from an early age that LaSaundra possessed a profound natural and deep-rooted gift for singing.

In her professional role as a Marketing Coordinator at Partners In Building, LaSaundra provides valuable support to the Sales team. Outside of that, LaSaundra prioritizes spending quality time with her loved ones and investing in her ministry.  She loves to make others smile, and she loves to laugh… out loud!

She begins each day with a heart brimming with gratitude, ready to embrace opportunities to assist and uplift those around her. LaSaundra's gentle,
